RR Dominate MI in 11-Over IPL 2026 Clash

In Match 13 of Indian Premier League 2026, Rajasthan Royals put on a clinical show to defeat Mumbai Indians by 27 runs in a rain-aided encounter in which only 11 overs were bowled at Barsapara Cricket Stadium. Delhi Capitals vs Chennai Super Kings Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, Mumbai Indians were immediately on the back foot as Rajasthan’s batters started attacking from ball one on a surface that looked full of runs.

The innings was propelled by a phenomenal knock from Yashasvi Jaiswal, who tore apart the Indian attack with an explosive 77 not out off only 32 deliveries including 10 fours and as many sixes at a breathtaking strike rate of 240.62 He found good support from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who smashed 39 off just 14 balls, including five sixes, as the two put together an explosive opening stand of 80 in less than 5 overs. Rajasthan Royals were all but cruising towards 150/3 in 11 overs at a run rate of 13.64, as they got further top-up for their steamroller middle overs with a quick-fire from Riyan Parag (20 off 10).

None of Mumbai’s bowlers could stem the flow of runs, with only AM Ghazanfar making a meaningful impact, claiming 2 wickets for 21 in his two overs. The rest of its attack, which included experienced names in Jasprit Bumrah and Shardul Thakur, gave runs away at high economy rates in a rain-affected match.

In reply, Mumbai Indians could never settle in their chase of 151. They lost three wickets for 22 runs in the first three overs, including key players Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav, derailing their innings early on. Despite a brief riposte from Sherfane Rutherford, who smashed 25 off 8 balls at above-300 strike rate, and a steady enough 25 from Naman Dhir, the run rate needed proved too steep.

The bowlers held their nerves for Rajasthan, with Ravi Bishnoi, Nandre Burger and Sandeep Sharma returning 2-wicket hauls while restricting Mumbai Indians to 123/9 in 11 overs at a rate of 11.18 runs per over. Those early breakthroughs the disciplined bowling certainly wrapped up the match and Mumbai couldn’t make a comeback despite a shortened format which leaned towards aggressive chases.

While the match proved to be a high-scoring encounter indeed, it was Rajasthan Royals’ batting and bowling that put their opponents Mumbai Indians on the backfoot throughout.
