India vs Australia World Cup 2027
India’s first match in the 2027 Group Stage will be against Australia on October 7 In Cape Town, which could prove to be a massive contest. Australia won the 2023 World Cup, but these were the two finalists in that tournament.
Avoiding this scenario is what makes the 2027 fixture such an important match up on the opening weekend of the tournament, with defending champions Australia facing India at Newlands.
India vs Pakistan World Cup 2027
India and Pakistan will clash in their group A encounter at Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on 10 October 2027.
The fixture will be one of the most eagerly awaited matches in the Group Stage and is followed only three days later from India’s opening-match against Australia.

World Cup 2027 New Format Explained
The most significant addition for the 2027 version is Super 7, which sees a whole new stage category unveiled. In a departure from the league format, teams will separately contest groups before the top sides progress to another round-robin competition.
Of great import, Group Stage points will not be carried over into the Super 7. I suppose every team going into the Super 7 has no points from the previous round as a result.
In order to keep the fixture pathway clear for its fans, the ICC has also pre-seeded numerous teams in Super 7 spots without interfering with the qualification process.
